Comments: Immigrated to United States 30 May 1912 at age 2. Traveled aboard the S.S. Hellig Olav, with mother and sister Svea (age 5). Would have taken the Titanic, but did not have the money in time. Arvid made it, the Titanic did not. Reunited with father, Adolf, in Naugatuck, Connecticut where Adolf had found work. Lived in Naugatuck until shortly after retirement from Uniroyal, where he was a quality control supervisor. Arvid and Lillian moved to Santa Barbara in 1974 to be with daughter, Elaine, and grandchildren. Svea and Arvid are listed on the Wall of Immigrants at Ellis Island.
